Please join the East Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, and Southwest Detroit Branches of the NAACP in celebrating the National NAACP’s 100th year of services by participating in our First Annual NAACP Community Unity Forum on March 26-29, 2009 and our Second Annual Joint Fight for Freedom Dinner on March 29, 2009 at the Whittier Hotel/Apartments, 415 Burns, Detroit, MI 48214.
Through our Community Unity Forum, we hope to mobilize and empower families and individuals to take an active role in preserving our civil rights and advocating for social and economic policy change at the local level. Our approach is to find ways of helping local people get practically involved in making decisions and managing improvements in their neighborhood. That is why we saw it fitting for our theme this year to be “Celebrating a Century of Services: Returning to Our Roots.”
Together, with the support of your organization, we can foster a culture of sustainability, accountability and responsibility within our communities.
Therefore, we are seeking your support and sponsorship of the Second Annual Joint East Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, and Southwest Detroit Branches’ Annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner which will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Roostertail. Featured guest include Darrin Henson, Clayola Brown and Ruby Dee. The tickets are only $60 and it include a 1 year membership. We look forward to your participation in this event while tickets are still available.
