As if the original date for Jay-Z’s first Blueprint album wasn’t monumental enough, he plans to let history repeat itself…..sort of. Hova’s Blueprint³ will drop on Sept. 11, eight years to the day when the first Blueprint hit stores—and fell off the media radar in the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C.
News of the release, which will be distributed by Roc Nation via Giants Stadium sponsored by New York’s Hot 97., was revealed on a Twitter posting courtesy of Sam Crespo, the label’s VP of rap promotions. It’s no secret that Jay-Z has been working on new material for a while now but I’m forced to wonder? What happened to his retirement. I guess you can never be sure if your ready to call it quits until you try to throw in the towel. Like anyone who is passionate in their craft, Jay isn’t done yet. As for his new single, D.O.A. (Death of Autotune), it’s no secret that I do not care for this special affect so I’m happy that artists are speaking out against it. I like the message but don’t think the beat and lyrics make a perfect union, What do you think?
