Tyler Perry isn’t the only one making deals with TBS. According to the network responsible for bringing ‘House Of Payne’ and ‘Meet The Browns’, Ice Cube’s ‘Are We There Yet?’ family comedy movie franchise is spinning off into a television series next year. Nick, the character made popular by Ice Cube will be played by ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ star Terry Crews, the father figure of the show. He’s joined by Nia Long who starred in the actual movie and recently created a buzz with comments regarding singers going into actor teritory. Cube said: “People of all ages loved the movies, so I am very excited to work on the series. Terry Crews is the perfect person to replace me as Nick. His physical comedy is undeniable. We are dedicated to creating the new template for family comedy.” Cube is no stranger to bringing one of his hit flicks to the tube. Though short lived, his ‘Barbershop’ comedy spun off into a Showtime series.
